Spend an evening in a lively conversation about growing soil, biodiversity and nutrient dense food with grass fed animals and intensive pasture management.
The Independent Farmstead (Chelsea Green, 2016) focuses on the importance of developing true interaction between all the resources
of a small farm- from animals to humans- in order to make the land,
its residents and its production the best they can be. Simultaneously irreverent and deeply serious, this book is a true how-to for those seeking to develop and manage a piece of land (however big or small) through regenerative farming.
Books will be available for sale before and after the event and are available in advance at cluck!, 399 Broadway, Providence.
Southside Community Land Trust works with NOFA/RI to offer training and technical assistance to beginning farmers who are managing livestock or are interested in doing so. Come meet NOFA/RI’s livestock program coordinator, Ben Coerper of Wild Harmony Farm in Exeter, and hear about his experience with livestock farming in Rhode Island as well as the educational resources available to beginning farmers in our communities.
