Otter Creek & Long Trail Ale Beer Dinner
On Wednesday, June 26, visit Providence GPub for a special four-course dinner featuring beers from Otter Creek Brewing Co. and Long Trail Brewing Co. The evening promises to astound the taste buds with exclusive dishes from GPub’s kitchen perfectly complimented with thoughtfully chosen craft beers from two of Vermont’s favorite breweries.
Otter Creek Brewing Co., based in Middlebury Vermont, has been “hitting, hopping and dosing brews with creativity since acid-wash jeans were hip.” Following the addition of a state-of-the-art brew house and more canning capacity, the OCB Crew is continuing down the path of innovation, throwing a bit of “kind into the kettle” whenever possible. OCB's hop-soaked ales and lagers are available throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Long Trail Brewing Co., located in Bridgewater Corners Vermont, released their first batch of Long Trail Ale in 1989. Back then the brewery—known as the Mountain Brewers—was a modest brew house tucked into the basement of the Old Woolen Mill in Bridgewater Corners, with the goal to brew an affordable, American-made alternative to the pricey German and English exports that filled the shelves. At the time, the craft brewing industry in America was on the rise and Vermont was better known for maple syrup than beer. In 1989, Long Trail Ale® hit the taps at local watering holes; blazing the trail for Vermont's craft brewing industry.
Suited for those who appreciate great food and beer, the menu will feature dishes including a Southwest Salad, with charred romaine, queso fresco, grilled corn, tomato, red onion, fried tortilla, and honey lime cumin vinaigrette paired with the All Souls Lager. There’s also Unearthed Ribs: pork ribs, unearthed stout BBQ sauce, corn fritter, and grilled onion, paired with the Unearthed Stout. These are just two of the four courses that will be served.
