6th Annual Rhode Island Bakes for Breast Cancer

Rhode Island Bakes for Breast Cancer returns for its sixth year to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Restaurants and bakeries across Rhode Island will participate during this year’s fundraiser from Monday, October 19 through Sunday, October 25, 2020.

By participating in the fundraiser, establishments will offer one designated dessert where 100% of the proceeds go towards the organization, benefiting breast cancer research. Since its inception in 1999, Bakes for Breast Cancer has raised over 2 million dollars for breast cancer research and awareness and over 4,200 different bakeries, cafés, pastry shops, supermarkets, and restaurants have participated.

Proceeds raised will benefit the nonprofit breast cancer organization Bakes for Breast Cancer which will support the research of Dr. Rachel Freedman. Dr. Freedman’s clinical trials will focus on treatment for older breast cancer patients, an area of research that has been vastly under subsidized. This year, the Rhode Island Bakes for Breast Cancer is dedicated to honoree Donna Conforti, a breast cancer survivor of 20 years.

Returning venues and confirmed locations include Legal Sea Foods, Seven Stars Bakery, Red Stripe Restaurant, Mill's Tavern, Chapel Grille, Coast Guard House Restaurant and Good Game Grill.
