I like to use two infusion techniques to bring layers of green botanicals to life. Soft herbal notes from the cucumber mint water harmonize with the sweet heat of the jalapeño agave syrup in this fun Mojito spin.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Cucumber Mint Water*
  • 1 ounce Jalapeño Agave Syrup**
  • ¾ ounce fresh lime juice
  • Cucumber wheel for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Add ingredients (except garnishes) into a bar tin, add ice, shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with cucumber slice and fresh mint. Makes 1 drink.
*Cucumber Mint Water: In a medium-sized pot, heat 2½ cups water with 7 sprigs fresh mint and 1 medium cucumber, sliced. Simmer 5 minutes, let cool, strain, discard solids and funnel into a clean Mason jar. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
**Jalapeño Agave Syrup: Muddle 6 slices jalapeño in 5 ounces blue agave nectar. Heat 1¼ cups water in a small saucepan, add muddled mixture and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool, strain, discard solids and funnel into a clean Mason jar. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
