Newport Restaurants Provide a Lifting Tide in the City by the Sea

  The Chanler has been able to continue supporting the local farms who provide much of its offerings because of Chef Jacob Jasinski’s strong relationships with farmers, fishermen and food purveyors.

• Geralyn Rodrigues of has accepted that the restaurant has shifted to a takeout place, which could be the reality for the next six months. 

• In addition to curbside pickup, preparing staff meals, Fluke has been making meals for workers at Newport Hospital, and dropping them off twice a week.

• Christopher Bender (shown here) and David Crowell of Stoneacre Pantry have been making family-style meals for hospitality industry workers and meals for Newport Hospital staff—more than 2,000 meals so far.

• Takeout from The Chanler’s “Mansion at Home” Mother’s Day menu will benefit victims of domestic violence through the Women’s Resource Center in Newport.
