Brunch Belly has beaten the odds for a Newport food truck—it was granted special permission, with the help from a member of the City Council, to park on the street at Nimfest, held every Sunday this past summer. It has been a long-standing policy of the City of Newport to forbid food trucks from operating on city streets. Owners Kerin and Charlie Hamilton have the license to operate their food truck—but technically only for special events.

Looking to spend more time with his family, Chef Charlie left the hustle and bustle of the restaurant world to open up the Brunch Belly truck. The brunch inspiration came from his expertise in making family breakfast, a tradition he wanted to share with the public. So, if you see the truck driving down the road on Aquidneck Island, you’ll want to follow it to the next event in the city by the sea.
