Border Crossings: Important Plants from Mexico
In addition to providing food, drink, medicine, shelter, fuel, and textiles, plants have created social customs and economic empires. Guest spearker Sally Shwartz will investigate the relationship between people and plants and see that it is as old as humanity itself. We will trace our relationship with several plants native to Mexico. Many of these plants can be found right here in the Botanical Center.
