Gluten-Free Go-To
Anyone committed to finding gluten-free items for family or friends knows the time-consuming, brain-stretching endeavor of shopping at several stores, encountering limited supplies or discontinued products, experimenting with unfamiliar brands and feeling frustrated at the inconsistencies.
Celeste Bremer and her brother, Brenden King, wanted to ease those burdens for their families and the needs of other special-diet families by opening May’s Gluten Free Market in June 2023. They are intent on providing a one-stop store for consumers seeking GF products, a wider variety of available brands and many surprising gluten-free groceries—Italian pastas, imported GF ramen noodles, puff pastry, baking mixes.
“Our goal is to make shopping more convenient, interesting—even fun and exciting,” says Bremer.
Two of her three children have benefitted from GF diets (one on the autism spectrum; one with celiac). May’s also offers many local products, such as Betta Bakes crackers, Blind Squirrel BBQ Sauce, Kay’s Curries, Aura’s Chocolates, Empanada Assassin’s empanadas—and many house-made items, such as pastries, quiches, muffins, prepared meals and more.
