After 14 years as caretakers at Casey Farm, in Saunderstown, where they grew flowers as well as veggies, Mike and Polly Hutchison made the leap to nearby Robin Hollow Farm in 2006. There, they have been dedicated flower growers and purveyors for events ranging from weddings to birthdays, from corporate boardrooms to private dens. With a dedicated team in place, they sell directly at three farmers markets and have recently expanded with a new retail shop in the Farm Fresh RI food hub in the Valley neighborhood of Providence. Polly was inspired by her mother’s unusual gardens, and Robin Hollow strives for the same, both in design (for events) and in the variety of flowers and herbs. “They are super-fresh,” Polly emphasizes. “We want them to last as long as possible.” She notes that, especially in the past two years, flowers have been a beautiful gateway to self-care and healing, as well as an expression of care for someone else. From spring anemones and tulips to late summer-into-fall dahlias and mums, Robin Hollow has a variety of blossoms and colors that can cheer, comfort and celebrate.
