On Sunday, November 24, from 10 am–2 pm the Tiverton Middle School will be bustling with a wealth of vendors ranging from local farms offering the fall’s freshest produce to artisans showcasing what are sure to be your favorite gifts to give this season. And lest we forget the star of the show—cranberries will be highlighted in an abundance of creative ways, much to any foodie’s delight. With peak cranberry harvesting in full swing, the Tiverton Farmers Market’s fifth annual Cranberry-Craze is shaping up to be their best yet.
This year’s market will host over 45 local vendors, one of whom is the nearby Neighborhood Farm out of Westport, MA. The Neighborhood Farm, which has a strong focus on natural and local, offers year-round produce free of GMOs. They have been a part of the Tiverton Farmers Market for three years and enjoy participating “because it provides a wonderful way to connect with our community,” says co-owner Kate, who started the farm in 2008. “We always enjoy seeing what all of the other talented vendors bring to the market.” For this season’s Thanksgiving Cranberry-Craze Market, The Neighborhood Farm will be bringing heirloom cranberries grown by their friends at Old Earth Orchard in Taunton, MA.
A favorite cranberry recipe of The Neighborhood Farm is an orange-juice-infused cranberry sauce. Try out Edible Rhody’s favorite version using fresh local cranberries, which will be in abundance at Sunday’s market.
