Eggplant Caponata at Café Choklad

A Scandinavian-inspired lunch spot and bakery, Café Choklad is a champion of chocolate. What you wouldn’t expect is the savory touch of cocoa they sneak into their hearty eggplant caponata. Nestled in a ciabatta roll, it’s one of the best ways to get your chocolate fix.
Mocha Syrup at Dave’s Coffee
341 S. Main St.
A relative newcomer to Providence, but a Rhode Island staple, Dave’s is turning out expert espresso and coffee in their newest shop. The highlight of the experience is taking home a bottle of their homemade coffee syrup; the mocha version will bring an extra little something to the classic Coffee Milk.
Ellie-O at Ellie’s Bakery
61 Washington St.
Ellie’s Bakery has been filling the air of Washington Street with the smells of their famous breads, cookies and cakes since their opening. While anything sweet or chocolate there is a safe bet, the Ellie-O is a standout. And the little piped-icing “E” makes it all the sweeter.
Chocolate Plate at The Grange
A vegetarian restaurant with a seasonal focus serving everything from a delightful quinoa salad to a mushroom po-boy on a pretzel roll to their obsession-worthy chocolate plate.

Four slabs of rich chocolate cake, interspersed with fudge frosting and sprinkled in chocolate curls, Gregg’s layer cake is a Rhode Island favorite for good reason.
Chocolate Lava Cake at Mill’s Tavern
101 N. Main St.
Upscale and cozy, this spot at the bottom of College Hill sets out to make you feel your most comfortable. This extends to their dessert menu that features a classically indulgent Chocolate Lava Cake.
Mocha at New Harvest Coffee and Spirits
65 Weybosset St. #118
Tucked away in the Arcade in downtown Providence, New Harvest Coffee and Spirits is an absolute gem. From espresso to whiskey to local pastries, they have you covered. Fuse your love for coffee and chocolate in their expertly crafted mocha.
Chocolate Chip Cookie at North Bakery
70 Battey St.
North’s newest project is a sweet little bakery occupying the corner not to far from the original restaurant. With their plays on classics you would be wise not to overlook the perfect little chocolate chip cookie.
Chocolate Cakes at Pastiche

Tucked away in Federal Hill, this quiet dessert spot is the coziest place to warm up with a cup of tea and their appropriately Italian Torta di Cioccolata. If you’re not feeling quite so international, don’t fret—just try the All American Chocolate Cake instead.

A local institution with made-from-scratch artisanal loaves and pastries fill the displays. While their chocolate croissant is perfect, they up the ante with their nutty and luxurious take on the chocolate almond croissant.
Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream at Three Sisters
1074 Hope St.
Dreamy ice cream and hearty food at this local spot just across the street from the Hope Street Farmers Market in the summer. Tried-and-true standbys like the Dutch Chocolate are complemented by new and seasonal flavors on rotation.
2 — CENTRAL FALLS / PAWTUCKET
Chocolate popcorn at Nettie’s Kettle Corn
203 Concord St.
Sweet, salty, chocolaty goodness! Nettie’s is popped and seasoned by local duo Joe Clemente and Linda Rossi. Sold at grocers around Rhode Island and select farmers’ markets. Find them on Facebook.
3 — EAST GREENWICH / WARWICK
Chocolate quahog at Chocolate Delicacy
28 Gilbane Street
Not your typical stuffie, Chocolate Delicacy’s chocolate quahogs are two-ounce imitations of the favorite Rhody bivalve. They are available in milk, white or dark chocolate.
Frozen hot chocolate at Sweet Indulgence

Sweet Indulgence has a wide array of sweets and baked goods, plus their acclaimed frozen hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream and powdered chocolate.
Chocolate-dipped apple at Sweet Twist
5707 Post Rd.
East Greenwich, RI
Sweet Twist’s signature item is a Granny Smith apple hand-dipped in milk chocolate. It can be eaten plain or topped with pecans or toffee.
4 — WARREN / BARRINGTON
Chocolate cabinet at Delekta’s Pharmacy
469 Main St.
Delekta’s uses a real soda fountain, mixing up classic Rhode Island cabinets (called frappes or milkshakes outside Li’l Rhody). Cabinets are made with hand-scooped ice cream, homemade syrup and fresh milk, served in an old-fashioned glass with two straws.

Sweet Lorraine’s is a family-owned candy shop with an ever-changing selection of penny candy and artisan chocolate as well as organic, sugar-free and nut-free options. One of the two stores in Rhode Island selling bonbons and other delectables from Garrison Confections.
5 — TIVERTON
Chocolate ice cream at Gray’s Ice Cream
16 East Rd.
A Rhode Island ice cream institution since 1930, Gray’s creamy frozen treat is made with local dairy on-site at the Tiverton parlor.
Chocolate orange cookies from Provender Fine Foods
3883 Main Rd.
Provender Fine Foods owner Jennifer Borden is a baker and trained chocolatier. Her chocolate orange cookies are rich and intensely chocolaty with just a hint of orange. Cookies come beautifully wrapped in packs of seven.
6 — WESTERLY
Chocolate croissant at The Cooked Goose
92 Watch Hill Rd.
The baked goods at The Cooked Goose are made on-site each morning. You can’t miss with the muffins, scones and coffee cake, and the chocolate croissant is a flakey and decadent morning (or anytime) treat.
Dark chocolate lace at Hauser Chocolatier
59 Tom Harvey Rd.
Chocolate lace is a specialty of the Hauser family, owners of Hauser Chocolates in Westerly. Squiggly loops of delicious caramel are enrobed with smooth chocolate by a machine created by the Hauser’s, the only one of its kind in the United States.
Fair Trade Chocolate at The Ocean House

Though the Fair Trade Chocolate Dessert changes with the seasons, the chocolate coulant with caramelized milk jam and sheep’s milk ice cream at this iconic Rhode Island hotel is not to be missed.

Chocolate macadamia bark at Jennifer’s Chocolates

Jennifer’s Chocolates offers an array of nutty, fruity and creamy chocolate treats, but the chocolate macadamia bark is a standout. It is available in milk, dark and white chocolate.
Fudge at Montville Candy

Old-fashioned fudge, made smooth and creamy and sold at farmers’ markets across Li’l Rhody, including the South Kingstown Winter Farmers’ Market.
Chocolate Confections Sweenor’s Chocolates

The chocolate fudge at Sweenor’s uses premium ingredients, and is made fresh and locally. Find a huge array of other delicious chocolate confections at this family owned and operated business.
Mexican chocolate apricot tart at Sweet Cakes Bakery & Café
1227 Kingstown Rd.

Sweet Cakes has a seemingly unlimited number of chocolate treats, including a customer favorite, the heart-shaped lava cake, plus a wide variety of cheesecakes. One of the most intriguing is the Mexican chocolate apricot tart, which comes in a variety of sizes.

Chocolate covered almond toffee at Anchor Toffee

Almonds, sweet cream butter, pure sugar, salt and dark chocolate are skillfully piloted through heat and cold to create a classic treat you can’t resist.

Snowball In Hell from Clark Cooke House

Chocolate roulade and vanilla ice cream, served in a chocolate-coated goblet and topped with chocolate sauce and toasted coconut. Summer swells and first time visitors relish this dessert with equal delight.
Devil Dog at The Mooring

The Mooring won our #ediblerhodychocolate Instagram contest with a delicious-looking picture of their Devil Dog dessert: housemade devil’s food cake and American buttercream, served with their own vanilla ice cream.
Classic chocolate cupcake at Newport Sweet Shoppe
82 William St.
Cupcakes are baked from scratch every morning in small batches. Newport Sweet Shoppe also offers chocolates made from imported Belgian chocolate.
