Lemongrass Highball

Lively lemongrass and fresh citrus are a wonderful pairing in this tall and cooling summer refresher. Feel free to swap in another cordial in place of triple sec for added fruitiness.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1 Cocktail
  • 1½ ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce lemongrass syrup*
  • ½ ounce triple sec or other orange liqueur
  • ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Sparkling wine to top
  • Dehydrated lemon wheel for garnish (optional)
  • Trimmed lemongrass stalk for garnish (optional)

Preparation

In a bar tin, add liquid ingredients except sparkling wine. Add ice, shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with 2 slices of lemongrass secured with a cocktail clip and accent with a dehydrated lemon wheel.

Instructions

*Lemongrass Syrup In a blender, combine 2 chopped lemongrass stalks with 8 ounces each water and simple syrup. Blend on medium-high until the coarse lemongrass has been pulverized. Fine-strain into a clean bottle or jar and refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
