Zona Rosa

Front of House & Beverage Manager Elizabeth Sawtelle, Nicks on Broadway, Providence Tequila is one of my favorite spirits because of its versatility. Tasting notes can range from fresh, green and peppery to rich, mellow oak.

* Nicks Cranberry Cordial
2 cups fresh cranberries
½ cup sugar
Juice and peel of ½ an orange (no white pith)
2 cloves
4 cups (1 quart) water

Place ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat and simmer until berries are tender (about 30 minutes), stirring frequently. Mash the berries to make sure they pop. Cool and fine-strain into a clean bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Makes about 2½ cups.

Combine ingredients in bar tin with ice, shake for 15 seconds and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wheel. Yields 1 cocktail.
