Maggie Mulvena had been a personal chef in the Providence area for over three years, cooking mainly for physicians and their families. But as she got more and more requests for her skills, she decided to launch a meal delivery service in 2016, called Feast & Fettle. Together with her good friend Nikki Oliveira and, in early 2018, Carlos Ventura, they set up a subscription membership system, with plans for meals that vary for singles, couples or families. Maggie stresses that, in addition to choices for prepared entrées and sides, they are very flexible. So members may skip weeks as needed or add servings for dinner guests (ordinarily the couples plan includes three entrées and five sides each week). She also makes a point of using local suppliers, including Seven Stars Bakery, Four Town Farms, Narragansett Creamery, The Backyard Food Company, Virginia & Spanish Peanut Co. and Chi Kitchen. With a Johnson & Wales BA in culinary nutrition, Maggie focuses on the healthy and seasonal aspects of her menus, not on any particular “diet.” Each week has a theme, such as Asian, Mediterranean, Mexican or Indian. So treat yourself to a gourmet feast with many choices to put you in fine fettle.
