Finding Relaxation in a Lavender Field
When out of his PPE, South County anesthesiologist Henry Cabrera wears another hat at his 14-acre Green Hill farm: relaxing visitors with the sights and scents of 4,000 lavender plants and the delight of watching unusual farmyard animals, as well as a few exotic creatures—endearing alpacas and a startling white peacock. He’s planted 10 lavender varieties (in three colors) that will bloom the entire summer, and he has set up Cut Your Own Lavender days, in two-hour slots, with tickets ordered online before the event so there will be plenty of room and safe distancing for those who attend. The first Lavender Day is June 27.
